Afternoon cappuccino, evening toast: one bar, many moods
Published 9/24/2026 · 3 min read · Author: FOMO Coffee

In the afternoon there may still be presentations and introductions; in the evening conversations become more relaxed and there’s music. The same event can take on a very different atmosphere within a few hours. It’s useful if the hospitality can follow that change: after a welcome coffee on arrival, a beer or a simple cocktail can come to the fore later.
A Beer & Coffee Bar can provide an exciting starting point for such events. In addition to coffees, draft beers and simpler cocktails can also be available, according to a prearranged menu. The key to planning is to have a clear idea of what you want to offer at which times.
Let the schedule help shape the drinks menu
Go through the event timetable. When do guests arrive? Will there be a communal dinner? When does the program become more informal? These points help decide what role the bar should play.
You don’t need to split the day rigidly into a coffee-only and an evening section. It’s more useful to clarify which drinks should be available simultaneously and which periods will see higher demand for specific items. The possibilities for serving at the same time should be agreed based on the actual bar setup.
A short selection can still have character
An event bar doesn’t have to present an entire cocktail book. A few well-chosen drinks that suit the group are easier to oversee and tie more closely to the event’s atmosphere.
When selecting items, besides favorites, also consider the service process. What preparation is required? In what glassware will the drinks be served? How often will restocking be needed? A well-functioning drinks list is also thoughtfully planned behind the counter.
Make sure everyone can join the toast
Some people will be driving, some won’t consume alcohol, and some will simply want something different. Plan the non-alcoholic selection just as carefully as the beers or cocktails.
Agree on the available non-alcoholic drinks in advance and list them clearly on the menu. It’s good if guests don’t have to ask what options are available.
Behind-the-scenes work makes it feel effortless
Ice, cooling, glassware, water, waste handling, site access: less photogenic details, but without them it’s difficult to organise an elegant bar experience. Before the pop-up, be clear about what the provider supplies, what the venue supplies, and what must be ordered separately.
In the quote, clarify the drink offering, any quantity or consumption cap, and the operating hours. That way the idea of “there will be a bar” becomes a precisely defined service.
When requesting a Beer & Coffee Bar quote, explain how your event progresses from afternoon to evening. From that it’s easier to put together an offering that has a role in every period.
